Denfield Park set for major upgrade with new 3G football pitch development

Exciting improvements are set to get underway at Denfield Park, with work beginning on a brand-new 3G artificial football pitch that will provide enhanced facilities for local clubs, schools and community groups.

The project will see the existing ash pitch demolished and replaced with a modern all-weather 3G surface, marking a significant investment in grassroots football and community sport in Kirkcaldy.

To allow construction work to take place safely, temporary restrictions will be introduced at Denfield Park from Monday 9 November 2026 until approximately the end of March 2027.

During the construction period:

• The main grass pitch and Pitch 2 will remain open and accessible.
• The pavilion will continue to be available for use.
• The construction area will be secured with perimeter fencing, with public access restricted within the work site.
• Around half of the existing car park will be temporarily closed to accommodate construction vehicles, equipment and associated works.

Visitors to Denfield Park are being asked to follow all temporary signage, respect the construction fencing and take extra care when moving around the site.

Kirkcaldy Community Football Partnership has acknowledged that the works will cause some short-term inconvenience, particularly due to reduced parking capacity, and has thanked park users for their patience and understanding while the development is completed.

The new facility is expected to provide year-round playing opportunities and support increased participation in football and physical activity across the local community.

Once completed, the new 3G pitch will represent a major enhancement to the facilities at Denfield Park, helping to meet growing demand from local clubs, schools and community organisations while providing a modern sporting venue for generations to come.
