Charity supports Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is encouraging more women and girls to get active as it supports this year's Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week.

Running from 2nd to 8th November, the annual campaign – led by the Scottish Government and partners - is now in its tenth year.

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust offers a variety of activities across its 14 venues in Fife. It works with communities to reach new customers and make sport and leisure more affordable and accessible to local people.

Over the course of Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week, the charity will feature inspirational women and girls across its social media channels.

Sharron McCormick, the Marketing, Communications and Sales Manager at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said:

“You don’t need to be a female athlete or coach to get involved. This week is all about coming together, moving more and having fun.

“Why not get your friends together and help them be active too?

“Whether it’s going for a swim, taking your friend to their first spin class, or working out in the gym, there are plenty of activities to try right across Fife.

“Get together, come along to our events in the local area, share your moves, post photos, and inspire others to get active. Everyone can take part.

“By finding an activity that's right for you, you'll improve your physical and mental wellbeing, have fun and build lasting friendships.”

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust recently launched a new “Help Hub” on its website to welcome new users and provide inspiration to anyone starting their fitness journey.

The charity has also been working with Fife Council to improve local leisure centres. Recent initiatives have included gym revamps and the roll-out of a new, dedicated studio offering Reformer Pilates.

How you can support Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week

Over the past decade, Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week has helped shine a spotlight on the achievements of women and girls in sport, challenge barriers to participation, and inspire more people to get active.

It's also been a platform for sharing stories, celebrating success, and driving positive change across communities throughout Scotland.
