Fife Council are improving the road network between between Oakley and Carnock this autumn.
Works will be carried out on the A907 Main Street from Monday 12 to Friday 23 October 2026, subject to weather.
This section of the A907 Main Street is a key route linking west Fife with Dunfermline. To allow the work to be carried out safely, the road will be closed between 9am and 3pm each day. Temporary traffic lights will be in place outside these hours.
A signed diversion will be in place via Gartarry Roundabout, the A977, A985 and A994 through Cairneyhill, William Street, Pittencrieff Street and Rumblingwell in Dunfermline, before rejoining the A907 at Carnock Road. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys during the closure.
Access for emergency services will be maintained wherever it is safe to do so.
During the road closure, services 4, 4A and X22 will divert via B913 Cowstrandburn. Notices will be placed on affected bus stops. For more bus information please contact Stagecoach on 0345 241 8000 or visit www.stagecoachbus.com
A shuttle bus service will run during the road closure. There will be hourly connections for passengers from Carnock and Oakley. It has been extended to Parkneuk to allow for additional connections to Dunfermline. Details of locations and times are listed below:
