More than 500 new Modern Apprentices will start earning while learning with Fife College this year, as the College continues to play a key role in developing the skills needed by employers across the region.
Apprentices across a wide range of sectors – including Automotive, Business, Childcare, Construction, Engineering, Healthcare and Life Sciences – will join the College over the course of 2026/27 to kick-start their careers and gain valuable industry experience.
The milestone comes as Fife College secures a £2.1 million Modern Apprenticeship contract, supporting hundreds of new starts and strengthening the College’s commitment to developing local talent and meeting the skills needs of employers.
The 2026/27 contract will enable Fife College to continue delivering high-quality Modern Apprenticeship training in partnership with employers, helping businesses to build their workforce while giving young people and new entrants the opportunity to gain industry-recognised skills and qualifications.
More than 500 new apprentices will begin their Modern Apprenticeships this year, bringing the total number of apprentices supported by Fife College to over 1,200 across its apprenticeship programmes.
Fife College works closely with employers to ensure apprenticeship programmes are aligned with industry requirements, combining practical, workplace-based experience with college training. This approach gives apprentices the opportunity to develop the technical and employability skills they need to succeed, while enabling employers to grow their own talent.
Louise MacDonald, Head of Apprenticeships & Workbased Learning at Fife College, said:
“We are delighted to welcome a record number of more than 500 new Modern Apprentices to Fife College this year. Our new £2.1 million contract reflects the strength of our apprenticeship provision and our ongoing commitment to working with employers to develop the skills Fife needs.
“Modern Apprenticeships offer a fantastic opportunity for people to earn while they learn, gain valuable experience in the workplace and build a strong foundation for their future careers. At the same time, they provide employers with an effective way to recruit and develop talented people with the exact skills they need.
“We are proud to work with employers across a wide range of sectors and look forward to supporting our new apprentices as they begin this exciting next chapter. We wish them every success in their apprenticeships.”
