Two new non-executive members have been appointed to the NHS Fife Board.

Anna Bisset and Professor Ian Finlay have been appointed by Scottish Ministers and will each serve an initial four-year term.

Anna Bisset brings more than 25 years' experience in technology and transformation. Her career has spanned banking, consultancy and public sector transformation, including leading large-scale digital implementation programmes and building a UK-wide public sector transformation practice. She brings significant expertise in governance, risk and compliance, organisational change, and people-centred leadership. Anna also has extensive experience in helping organisations maximise the value of digital investment to deliver strategic outcomes.

Professor Ian Finlay is a retired surgeon who brings extensive clinical, leadership and governance experience to the NHS Fife Board. During his career, he led the development of the specialist colorectal department at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and later served as Director for Surgery and Anaesthetics at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. He has also held several national leadership roles, including leading the introduction of appraisal and revalidation for doctors in Scotland. An Honorary Professor at the University of Dundee, he was awarded a CBE in 2021 for services to medical education and training.

Welcoming the appointments, Patricia Kilpatrick, Chair of NHS Fife, said:

"I am delighted to welcome Anna and Ian to NHS Fife Board. Both bring a breadth of knowledge, expertise and leadership experience which will be of tremendous value to the organisation.

"As we continue to navigate a period of significant opportunity and challenge across health and social care, their insight and experience will help support the Board in continuing to deliver high-quality services and improving outcomes for the people of Fife.

"I look forward to working closely with them and wish them every success in their new roles."

As non-executive Board members, Anna and Ian will work alongside executive, stakeholder and partner members to provide strategic leadership, oversight and governance for NHS Fife, helping to shape and improve healthcare services for communities across Fife.
