Passengers travelling on the Fife rail network are being advised to plan ahead as buses will replace trains between Cowdenbeath and Leven from Saturday 24 October until Tuesday 27 October due to engineering works.
The changes are required while Network Rail carries out electrification work between Lochgelly and Glenrothes with Thornton, resulting in the closure of the railway line in the area. During the disruption, no trains will operate between Lochgelly and Glenrothes with Thornton, with replacement bus services running between Cowdenbeath and Leven.
A limited number of train services will continue to operate non-stop between Inverkeithing and Markinch, and passengers travelling to stations between those points are advised to use alternative transport arrangements.
ScotRail is encouraging customers to check their journey before travelling and allow extra time, as replacement buses may be busier than usual. More information, including journey planning and details of replacement bus pick-up points, is available on the ScotRail website.
