Essential repairs to storm-damaged infrastructure at St Andrews Harbour Trust will go ahead after members of the North East Fife Area Committee approved funding support from the St Andrews Common Good Fund.
The committee agreed to award £6,950 towards repair costs following damage caused by storms during winter 2025/26. The funding will help address deterioration affecting several parts of the harbour and prevent further damage before future winter weather compounds the issue. The award will be made from the St Andrews Common Good Fund.
Recent repair estimates identified work required to replace missing stones, repair pathways and install timber wedges across sections of the harbour infrastructure.
The approved funding will help ensure necessary repairs can be carried out ahead of future storms, supporting the long-term preservation of one of St Andrews' best-known landmarks.
Cllr Jonny Tepp, Convener of the North East Fife Area Committee, said:
"St Andrews Harbour is an important part of the town's identity and a valued asset for residents and visitors alike. By approving this funding, we're helping to protect the harbour from further deterioration and supporting work that will safeguard its future for years to come."
"The harbour plays an important role in the local economy, attracts visitors from across the region and has significant heritage value. These repairs will help ensure it continues to be enjoyed by local people and visitors while preserving this important community asset."
