Women across Fife are being invited to an interactive talk about dealing with the menopause.
The event, entitled “Menopause and Wellbeing: Thriving Through Lifestyle Medicine”, will be held at Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes on Sunday 22nd November 2026. It will run from 10 am to 11.30 am.
A spokesperson said:
“This event raises awareness of menopause and provides women across Fife with accessible, evidence-informed information and practical advice to support their health and wellbeing.
“The event supports our ongoing commitment to improving community health, promoting physical activity and supporting individuals at different stages of life.”
The talk will be delivered by Dr Hannah Dakin, a GP in Methil for 20 years. She is a certified Lifestyle Medicine practitioner with a particular interest in women's health and menopause.
Her 90-minute session will explore how women can improve their health and wellbeing during menopause through the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine:
- physical activity
- restorative sleep
- healthy nutrition
- social connection
- avoidance of harmful substances
- stress management
The event will offer practical insights and lifestyle strategies to help women navigate menopause with greater confidence and understanding.
The talk will take place in studio four at Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre. Tickets are priced at £10 for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust members and £25 for non-members.
Organisers hope the session will increase awareness and understanding of menopause and its impact on women's health and provide practical strategies for managing symptoms and improving overall wellbeing.
They also hope it will highlight the positive role of physical activity and healthy lifestyle behaviours. The session aims to encourage open conversations and reduce stigma surrounding menopause
