Seven Fife College students have been awarded special scholarships from Arnold Clark to support their studies and future career ambitions.
Tyler Davidson, James Millar, Adam Mohammed, Adam Russell, Roksana Karwaczynska, Ben Phillips and Iona Worgan have all received awards in recognition of their commitment to progressing their careers in business, engineering and automotive industries.
The scholarships, presented through the Adam Smith Scholarships programme, part of Fife College, are designed to support students by helping them purchase essential resources and materials to enhance their studies and take their next steps towards further study or employment.
Iona received an £800 scholarship, while Tyler, James, Adam Mohammed, Adam Russell, Roksana and Ben were each awarded £200.
Arnold Clark, Europe’s largest privately owned car retailer, has been offering scholarships at Fife College for several years, with some previous recipients securing employment with the company after completing their studies.
The scholarship recipients were recently presented with their awards by Carole-Anne McCann, Group Recruitment Manager at Arnold Clark, during a special presentation at the College.
Iona Worgan, from Dunfermline, said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Arnold Clark for sponsoring me in my studies at Fife College. It has given me a big boost to have this support towards my chosen career path. Thanks to the financial help from this scholarship, I am now happily in the driving seat, got my L plates and enrolled on driving lessons. This will open new opportunities for me and make travel to and from college so much easier. Someday soon I hope to have a wee look around an Arnold Clack showroom and hopefully gain some work experience too. I can’t wait.”
James Millar, from Dunfermline, said:
“I am very pleased that I have won this scholarship with Arnold Clark, it will benefit me in a multiple of ways including helping me get the tools I need for an apprenticeship and to progress my career in the industry.”
Adam Mohammed, from Methil, said:
“I am delighted that I was awarded the scholarship from Arnold Clark. It means a lot to me and my future career in the automotive industry, as it will look good on my CV and give me a higher chance of being able to get an apprenticeship with Arnold Clark, which would be my dream place to work.
“I will most likely spend the money on driving lessons to get to and from work in the future.”
Carole-Anne McCann, Group Recruitment Manager at Arnold Clark, said:
“We’re delighted to continue our support for Fife College students through these scholarships and to recognise another group of students who are committed to developing their skills and progressing in their chosen careers.
“We hope the awards will make a real difference by helping the students access the resources and support they need during their studies and as they take their next steps towards employment.
“Congratulations to all seven scholarship recipients, and we wish them every success for the future.”
Lyn Gold, Scholarship and Alumni Engagement Lead at Fife College, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Arnold Clark for their continued support of Fife College students through the Adam Smith Scholarships programme.
“These scholarships provide valuable practical support while also giving our students a real boost as they work towards their career ambitions. Arnold Clark’s longstanding commitment to our students has made a positive difference over many years, and we are delighted to continue that partnership.
“Congratulations to Tyler, James, Adam, Adam, Roksana, Ben and Iona on their awards. We wish them all the very best with their studies and future careers.”
The scholarship forms part of the Adam Smith Scholarships programme, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. One of the largest college scholarship programmes in Scotland, it awards thousands of pounds each year to support students, create opportunities and help transform lives.
