Come along to ‘the Happening’? Well I have never heard that in many a decade and was too young (he says) to enjoy it first time around. It was Diana Ross & The Supremes who had the hit record with ‘The Happening’ back in the day but would all be revealed in the Ivy studio in Infirmary Street? Well we now know of writer & performer Fiona Coffey for her hit show from 2017 ‘A Touch Of Mrs Robinson’ where she played a convincing cougar with comedy and music. For those shows she had some experienced live musicians which added a rare quality to the production but without them how would the new piece pan out? Bubbles of Joy

Michael Bubbles proved to be a sell out success last year at the Fringe and this year the show is back. Michael has a superb voice for this music he is performing and highlighting We heard the song the best is yet to come at the start then, Michael tries to have the crowd involved as well as singing by telling jokes. Within minutes of starting, Michael has some of volunteers from the audience blowing bubbles to Cry Me a River as supposedly the budget had been cut and there was no professional bubble machine. We hear Michael giving his rendition of swing songs including a segment where the audience are able to sing along as the words are shown on the large screen including That’s Amore, Come

When Bon met Angus

Bon the Musical =============== This is the story of Bon Scott (Linton Osborne) and how met Angus Young (Jed Gillies) and joined the rock band AC/DC. At least I think that's the idea. In reality it's a number of small scenes bookended with songs from the AC/DC back catalogue. If you already know the story and the songs then it's fun with the cast and audience enjoying themselves. However if you don't then it's 55 mins of disconnected scenes and music. The cast are talented and entertaining and the ad-libbing by Mark Bennett is ocassionally funny, but after a while it just needs to end. So in summary if you want to hear some talented musicians sing some AC/DC songs then Bon the Musical is for
