Shrek The Musical? What did I expect? Well I have only seen clips of the movie but I had heard great things about the stage musical and this being the big Christmas production at the Edinburgh Playhouse it kind of must be special. Let me tell you – it was. Young people who may not even be familiar with the ogre story can relate to this story of the evil king, fairy princess and a cast that includes Peter Pan, the Pied Piper, the three Bears, Three Blind Mice and Pinocchio complete with an expanding nose. Cinderella at the Kings Edinburgh

The Pantomime at Kings Theatre has a big reputation to live up to and it will certainly not disappoint. The Holy Trinity of Panto - Allan Stewart, Andy Gray and Grant Stott are back with Cinderella in their 13th year as a trio. It is the ultimate family show with humour on many levels and the script has a Lothian twist for everyone’s favourite rags to riches story. The Panto revolves around its three main stars. Allan Stewart plays the fairy godmother – Fairy May - a fantastic performance played with boundless energy, lots of audience interaction and music numbers.
